NOVEMBER 19 - 7PM
Dennis James will perform at the Venango Museum (270 Seneca Street, Oil City) on Friday, November 19 at 7PM.
The performance is part of Dennis James’ Silent Film Concert productions, offering the increasingly rare opportunity to see fully restored and preserved classic silent films performed together with their period-original music scorings.
He will be accompanying MGM’s 1928 silent film Pass The Gravy on the Museum’s very own Wurlitzer Theatre Organ. He will play other musical numbers on both our theatre organ and our beautiful Steinway piano within the program as well.
Until his retirement from university teaching in 2015, Dennis James built an international professional career in music performance, antique music instrument preservation, specialist historical research and extensive educational activities. He now composes, arranges and transcribes historical music while embracing presentation stylistic changes, reviving still-vital past cultural trends, and expanding his long career working with professional colleagues and major cultural institutions worldwide.
Admission is $10.00 paid in advance. Reservations are required and seats are limited. Masks for unvaccinated guests are required inside the Museum.
